Now, don’t get me wrong, I am going to be extremely disappointed if the Cubs lose tonight and drop the series to Cleveland, but no matter what happens tonight, this season was a great success for the Cubs. Now, people will try to claim “The Curse Lives” if we don’t win this thing, but don’t believe it. This curse is dead. Just making it to the World Series was enough for that. Making it here for the first time in 71 years is an incredible accomplishment, so please don’t declare this season as a failure if we can’t walk away with the trophy tonight.
I called it back on the 28th when the Cubs were down 2-1 in the series that we would close it out in game 7. I think it will be a close game, and I can’t see either team scoring more than 4 runs unless Kluber or Hendricks don’t have their A-game, which is highly doubtful. I think the Cubs take it 2-0 after scoring both runs early in the game. Hendricks will throw 7 scoreless innings, and Chapman gets the 6 out save to win it. Now, call this wishful thinking, but it’s just what I think will happen (literally basing this off of nothing). But I guess we’ll see. And please, feel free to rub this in my face when none of these predictions come true.
All in all, this season has been amazing and definitely the best and most fun season I have experienced in my life. I don’t want it to be over, but regardless of what happens tonight, I will be opening a bottle of champagne to celebrate what has been an amazing run. I wish my Granny was here to see, but I’m sure she’s watching from upstairs. Let’s win it for all of our loved ones that didn’t get a chance to see this. Go Cubs Go!
